Consultation on changes to admission arrangements for community and voluntary controlled schools 2015

Surrey County Council is consulting on the proposed changes to admission arrangements for some community and voluntary controlled schools from September 2015. Full details of the consultation and the changes being proposed are available at www.surreysays.co.uk.

What are the proposed changes?

The changes being proposed are as follows:

1. Auriol Junior School – introduction of a feeder link for children attending The Mead Infant School.
2. Reigate Priory – introduction of tiered criteria so that siblings and other children who have Reigate Priory as their nearest school will be given priority ahead of those who do not.
3. St Ann’s Heath Junior School – introduction of a feeder link for children attending Meadowcroft Infant School and a reciprocal sibling link between these two schools.
4. Thames Ditton Infant and Thames Ditton Junior schools – introduction of a reciprocal sibling link between these two schools.
5. Nursery criteria – introduction of admission criteria for two year olds.
6. Changes to published admission numbers – decrease to the published admission number for the following schools:

The Dawnay – decrease in Junior PAN from 30 to 15
North Downs Primary – decrease in Reception PAN from 64 to 60

7. Changes to the schools which will be considered to admit local children when assessing nearest school for community and voluntary controlled schools –
• Bishop Wand Church of England School, Saint Ignatius Roman Catholic Primary School and St Andrew’s Catholic Secondary School to be added to the list of own admission authority schools which will be considered to admit local children.
• Camelsdale Primary School to be added to the list of out of County schools which will not be considered to admit local children.

How can I respond to the consultation?

The consultation on these proposed changes will run from Monday 25 November 2013 to Monday 20 January 2014.
