Normandy Bonfire

NORMANDY BONFIRE NIGHT - 4TH NOVEMBER (traditionally 5th November)

Bonfire Night in Normandy is always a highly anticipated event for those in the village. This very traditional experience this year, due to events beyond the Parish Council's control, will be on the 4th November. The Parish Council hope to reinstate the traditional date of 5th November for 2022 and beyond.

It starts at the Hunts Hill Road car park, opposite Session Music at approximately 6.30pm with a torch lit procession that provides a magical journey through the Normandy Common woodland, around the Normandy Pond and ends up in the Manor Fruit Farm. Here visitors see the lit bonfire for the first time and the torches, that had been carefully carried by people of all ages, are placed by members of the Normandy Volunteer Network around the structure creating an enchanting scene.

Whilst families tuck into the locally sourced BBQ food and available drinks the fireworks spectacular commences about 7.20pm. There are also a few fairground rides for the children.  It is an event for all the family to enjoy and also entertains guests from outside of the village.
