NORMANDY BONFIRE NIGHT - 5th NOVEMBER 2024

Remember, remember the 5th November, gunpowder, treason and plot.

Bonfire night in Normandy is always a highly anticipated event for those in the village. The evening starts at approximately 6.30pm with a torch lit procession that provides a magical journey through the Normandy Common woodland, around the Normandy Pond and ends up on Manor Fruit Farm.

This year we will be trialling some new wax torches which can be purchased from the pavilion at the football club. These will cost £5 each and will be cash only, we would be grateful if you could have the correct money ready. You can buy these between 6.10-6.30pm with the procession starting promptly at 6.30pm.

The bonfire will be lit at 7pm and the fullness of the event will be evident with this year’s main event consisting of two firework displays, one of which will be a low bang pyrotechnic display, the other a more traditional display planned for slightly later in the evening.

There will be various specialist coffees, soft drinks, hot chocolate, mulled wine, soups, ice creams, and a range of hot food including burgers, hotdogs, skin-on chips, chocolate churros and chocolate brownies.  Crisps and other nibbles will be available from the bar along with a selection of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.

And as is tradition there will be fairground attractions for the children to enjoy.

The evening will end at 8.30pm with something completely different which we are keeping secret for just a little while longer….

We look forward to seeing you all on November 5th!
