GBC Christmas and New Year Bin Collection Changes

Bin collection days will change over the Christmas and New Year period but a full service of rubbish and recycling collections will continue over the festive season. Although there will be no garden waste collections between the 29th December and the 9th January, crews will still be out collecting your Christmas waste.

Our waste collection teams have worked hard to maintain normal services during the Coronavirus pandemic and, although we have had to change crew sizes to meet social distancing guidelines, they have collected 20% more waste than pre-pandemic levels.  New ways of working have been introduced to prioritise safety including providing gloves, hand sanitiser, wipes and masks as well as keeping crews in ‘bubbles’ to minimise contact with their colleagues.
