Congratulations to the new West Surrey elected Councillors

Following the recent elections to the new West Surrey Council, congratulations are extended to Bilal Hassan Akhtar and Jonathan Lord, who were elected to represent the Worplesdon Ward.

The election marks the beginning of an important period of transition for local government in Surrey. Over the next year, the newly elected members will serve as “shadow councillors” for the new West Surrey authority, helping to prepare the structure, services and priorities of the council ahead of it formally taking over responsibilities in April 2027. 

Whatever residents’ political views, local elections are an important part of community life, and we wish all those elected every success as they begin their work on behalf of local residents and the wider West Surrey area.
