Guildford Retirees Fair

Following discussions with some voluntary sector partners, we are thinking about holding a retirees’ fair in Guildford in the Autumn. The number of people approaching retirement age and already retired is increasing and for many of those people it is the moment to have fun and enjoy new experiences, taking up new activities, or offering time to the voluntary sector. It is also a moment when different information is often required. The fair would showcase how people might volunteer, keep active, join clubs and societies and meet new people etc. after their retirement. The fair could include things like:

  • Volunteering
  • Leisure, sports and fitness
  • Arts, hobbies and other activities
  • Learning and education
  • Travel

At this stage, we would welcome expressions of interest from clubs, societies and organisations who might like to take part by exhibiting at a fair.  There may be a small charge for a stand.  Once we have gauged levels of interest, we can then start to plan the possible format and venue.
