Petanque and Short at Bowls OPEN DAY – Saturday, 16 July 11am – 3pm
Normandy Bowling Club is situated on Manor Fruit Farm, between the village hall and Guildford Archery Club. A Petanque (boules) terrain has recently been built behind the clubhouse and anyone interested in playing petanque is invited to visit the club on Saturday, 16 July between 11am and 3pm. Sets of boules will be available to use and refreshments will be available.
The club would welcome any experienced petanque players who can give their opinion on the final playing surface and how games should be arranged. Equally, complete novices who fancy trying out the game are very welcome.
The club will also be open for anyone who would like to try out playing short mat bowls in the clubhouse. Normandy Bowling Club takes part in local leagues for short mat bowls during both winter and summer, and friendly matches against other clubs. There are five roll-up sessions per week for members.
The club also has social events, such as a skittles night, quiz night, bingo and coffee mornings throughout the year. Each month there are afternoons for whist, cribbage and dominos, played as a social occasion with a light afternoon tea half-way through the games.
