VE DAY 80
Last year saw the 80th anniversary of the historic D-Day landings which we in Normandy celebrated with raising the flag of peace and an evening of music from the era, a piper and the lighting of the beacon.
8 May 2025 sees the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe, VE-Day. As many surrounding villages are organising events to mark this special occasion, the decision was made not to hold an event similar to that of the D-Day 80 celebrations but to raise the VE-Day 80 flag at 9am that morning with a tribute being read by Paul Chillman, Chair, Normandy Parish Council.
